I did a little mockup of the characters in the environment. We decided to increase the contrast of the background just a bit more to make it look a bit less like the characters were floating and also we decided we need to add shadows underneath the characters in order to place them on the ground a bit better. I was wondering whether or not we are going to implement some foreground elements like limbo to help sell the depth even further?
I think foreground elements would be good. We can scatter simple rocks, trees and other elements to give it that extra depth, especially in the forest level.
